At the end of this I go on a crazy lady rant and basically scream at USMNT/USWNT fans who are fighting. I suppose it might be vaguely entertaining.

When Simon Borg said that female super fans weren’t appealing to men, at first I was very confused. I mean, I am MARRIED. When I got married, I spent some of our honeymoon money to pay for season tickets. When we moved in together I took over our office and turned it into a Dynamo room. My husband still married me. Clearly I am at least a little bit appealing. Then I thought about it some more. Why are we shocked that this guy made such a sexist comment? This is the same man who said that there should be no punishment and everyone was taking it way too seriously when Colin Clark called a ball kid a “fucking f****t.” He is clearly homophobic so why would he NOT be sexist? He is the MLS equivalent of Rush Limbaugh. That being said, I want to take this moment to say that before this incident, I have never once been discriminated against for being a lady in the soccer community. Quite the opposite, actually. I have good relationships with people in the Dynamo front office, assorted players, and tons of fans. I haven’t met a guy yet who has treated me any differently because I am a lady. I find that when most male soccer fans figure out that I know what I’m talking about, they get really excited and just want to talk some more. From what I have read, many other female fans/staff/etc. have had the same experiences. The podcast that I co-host weekly has a pretty healthy number of male listeners, despite the fact that we are called Girls in Goal. It doesn’t seem to bother them. The male reaction to Borg’s comments was overwhelmingly in support of female fans. So no, I don’t think that sexism is an issue in this community. The issue is that Simon Borg is an employee of Major League Soccer. When he opens his mouth he is representing Major League Soccer. His views are NOT that of the league. His views do NOT encompass the majority. That is the problem. What he said is going to make the news, and it is going to hurt the growth of this league that we all love so much. That isn’t good for anyone. Simon Borg hurt this league and he should lose his job.
Check out the latest from the girls in goal. We take on Simon Borg’s comments, the slew of injuries across the league and introduce a brand new MLS beers segment.

note - the segment on Simon Borg begins at about 4 minutes.
I legitimately get tears in my eyes over Danny Cruz in this one. Also I got a little tipsy towards the end there…..
Check out this week’s edition of Girls In Goal. We take on Rafa Marquez v. Shea Salinas, MLS bromances + more!

by bromances we mean Ayla gushes over Zandrew and just Zandrew because Zandrew is the superior bromance. Ugh.
Major League Soccer finally admits what every single Dynamo fan has been saying for years when Brad Davis gets ranked at #1, above David Beckham.
